Sobibor gets down to the station as soon as she can. She walks in and sees Majdanek and a man next to him. The man is in a panic, still dressed well, but a mess all the same. Sobibor walks over to the Detective and the man and shakes the mans hand. "I am Sobibor and you are the Treasurer of this town am I correct?"- she asks. The man looks up at her wide eyed, "Why, yes, have you seen my face before or come into City Hall?". Sobibor smiles wide and replies, "No sir, your hands just have the texture of someone who deals with currency, but more then just the regular penny and dime, some rare coins, such as the one recently put up in the City Museum." The man stands to his feet and gives a slight bow to Sobibor to show his admiration for the girl's deductive reasoning. The detective breaks in, "This is Matthew Hillard, and his daughter Lauren was kidnapped between the time he left the house and 12pm. Mr. Hillard received a message on his phone at 12:05 saying that his daughter was found and he best bring the family jewel if he was to ever see his daughter alive again. Then at 2:37, a photo of his daughter tied up with one of her fingers cut off was slid into his mail slot. The family jewel is most likely referring to the gem that the founder of this town put into his son's hands, passed down through all the mayors, now in the City Bank vault."Sobibor squints her eyes at hearing this news, and then frowns to hear the next thing, the police have absolutely zero leads, and the jewel in that vault would cost the Treasurer life in prison if he was to take it, and the police can't allow that, so he must be held at the station until they find his daughter.
Sobibor starts with the basics, she asks Mr. Hillard if anyone would want him locked away or if anyone has anything against his daughter, and he gives one name, but it's the name of his deceased political rival, John Morr. So no leads, no easy ransom, and a time limit to get the job done. Sobibor stands to her feet and walks out the station without a word. To herself, she thinks about what to do. {What in the hell is going on here, it sounds to me like a setup, either the kidnapper was expecting this to be done without informing the police, or he wants to kill Lauren. Either way, I have no clue who it could be, where they could be, or even if there is a way to solve this without any more pain and suffering. I bet Sherlock would know what to do in a situation like this. WAIT THAT'S IT! This is all too easy, family jewel is far too specific to an item we all know about, but what if it is only supposed to seem like it. Family jewel is a general term, and I doubt that there is a family in this city without some treasure, and what better then the Treasurer's treasure!}. Sobibor runs back into the station and runs right up to Mr. Hillard. Sobibor frantic for breath, "Mr. Hillard, how many people know about the heirloom that has been passed down in your family?"
