Sobibor Stories: The Amethyst Rose

Mr. Hillard stands and turns to Sobibor in shock and says, "How did you know about my family's heirloom?" Sobibor smiles and replies, "I has just rather hopeful you had one in all honesty, but you have to answer my question, who knows about it?" Mr. Hillard lists off everyone who knows about the gem outside of his close family. His daughters best friend, Violet Nubaum, and his wife's best friend, Susan Felestello. Sobibor gets a face that says it all, his wife's best friend's last name, Felestello. Sobibor's first case involved a Harold Felestello, a master gem thief who broke out shortly after his arrest. The only man Sobibor couldn't keep behind bars, her mortal enemy.

 Sobibor begins to pursue the theory that he is after the gem, but she realizes kidnapping is slightly out of his expertise. But he has henchman, and a surplus of them. Sobibor asks two more questions, "First off, does the name Harold Felestello ring any bells? And I need more details on your family jewel." Mr. Hillard is taken back to hear the name and replies, "Harold is Susan's brother, and a mastermind, but I doubt he has any involvement in this case since he went missing since he escaped from prison. And the jewel is...."

Mr. Hillard stops talking and grabs a slip of paper and begins to write, when he is finished he gets up and begins to leave, and very discreetly slips the paper to Sobibor and walks out of the station. Sobibor leaves the station not 5 minutes later and looks around her to make sure she is alone, then pulls out the paper. Written very hastily is the following: Come by my house tonight and I will tell you what you need to know. Sobibor walks further before deciding to take up the offer and go to the Hillard's home. Mr. Hillard answers the door, "Did you come alone?" Sobibor giggles, then walks into the house. Mr. Hillard starts up, wasting no time, "The family gem is hidden here. He breaks away to turn a painting and open a vault, removing a box from it. This is the gem that is the foundation of this town, The Amethyst Rose."

The gem is much like the head of a rose, and is indeed a dark purple, as is the birthstone. Sobibor stares at Mr. Hillard and nods, then speaks, "I know where your daughter is, I will assure you will have her by the end of the night." She thanks Mr. Hillard and walks out of the house then begins sprinting. To herself she begins to think {I got it, H. is back in the game, and this time a multi-million dollar gem is his target. The thing is, Susan knows where he is, and is keeping it a secret from everyone. So all I need to do is find out where H. is located, and how to get the girl from him, and catch him once again. So Susan's house is a good place to start.}

 Sobibor arrives at Susan's home and notices someone at the door talking to Susan. Once the mysterious figure sees Sobibor, they get into a car and flee the scene. {Case Closed my dear H.} She follows the car as far as she can and memorizes the car inside and out. After another 2 miles of running, she gets to a location with the same car parked out front. A building looking at foreclosure, a nice place to keep a hostage. She walks to the door and breaks the wood blocking the doorway. She climbs in through the space she has made and walks forward. She gets to a door and opens it, once inside she sees Lauren in chair and a note attached to her.

The note reads:
S-
Good to know you are still as eager as ever to put me behind bars, I missed that. Too bad the man had to go to the police about his daughter, now I get no gem and he killed his own offspring. This is only the start, now that I am back, I will continue to do what I love, elude you and make away with the goods. I hope you can try to keep up, or else there is no excitement.
Yours, H.
PS: Make sure to buy some roses for the girls funeral.

Sobibor reaches for the girls neck and check for a pulse, none comes through. Sobibor falls to her knees as tears roll down her face. She reads the letter over and over, until the Detective arrives and pulls her out of the scene. {I couldn't save her, H. wanted this to happen, he wanted me to be angry, upset, and to light a fire inside me. Well I promise you one thing H. I won't put you behind bars anymore, when I catch you, and I will, I am going to make you experience a slow and painful death by my hands, of that I am sure. So enjoy it while you can, enjoy the fun, enjoy this game, because it is the last game you will ever play.}
